Pedestrian Object Sensors

Pedestrian and object detection

Coverage that helps drivers see what the vehicle cannot.

OcLUM plans compact object-sensing systems around the vehicle's blind areas, mounting limits, driver alert needs, and operating environment.

A complete system can monitor selected areas and notify the driver when an object enters a configured detection zone.

Vehicle-area coverage

Plan the sensor zones around the actual vehicle.

The final layout depends on body shape, high-risk areas, mounting access, and whether the concern is reversing, doors, blind spots, or close-range maneuvering.

Object sensor controller with four sensor harnesses and speaker

System hardware

Four sensor inputs with extended harnesses

The controller supports multiple sensor faces, an in-cab alert speaker, and installation routing planned for the vehicle.

Flexible placement

More than a reverse-only application

Possible uses include door areas, blind spots, high-clearance sensing, forward objects, parking, and jack-knife awareness.

Installation workflow

Build the detection plan before drilling or routing cable.

OcLUM reviews the vehicle and intended warning behavior first, then places the hardware where it can be serviced and where the driver can respond to the alert.

1Identify the risk area

Choose the maneuver, blind spot, door zone, or vehicle edge that needs additional awareness.

2Position the sensor faces

Confirm mounting height, direction, clearance, and environmental exposure on the actual body.

3Place controller and speaker

Mount protected control hardware and position the audible alert where the driver can hear it clearly.

4Test and tune

Verify zone response around the vehicle and adjust alignment or programming for the intended use.

System characteristics

Compact hardware with practical fleet installation support.

The sensing package is selected and installed as vehicle equipment, with the final configuration confirmed for the application.

Audible driver notificationA remote-mounted speaker provides a clear in-cab warning when a configured zone is entered.
Four-zone input capacityExtended harness options support multiple sensor positions around the vehicle.
Low-power, weather-ready facesCompact IP67 sensor faces can be mounted nearly flush where the body and service access allow.
Moving and stationary objectsThe system can support close-range awareness for both stationary obstacles and moving objects.
